Owen Sluga

Urban Planning Student

Owen is an urban planning student who is concerned with creating equitable and sustainable developments and spaces for people to live and engage within. Growing up within a small suburban town within the GTA, Owen understands firsthand the negatives of low-density urban sprawl and auto-dependent lifestyles. Unafraid to challenge the status quo, Owen is motivated to develop planning solutions which work for everyone and advocate for those who have historically been ignored.

Creative and imaginative, Owen values the power of good visualization in planning and loves to bring his and other’s visions to life. Being extroverted and curious, he goes out of his way to create real connections with coworkers and clients. With this skillset, Owen has been able to design innovative and radical proposals which have received praise from his professors, colleagues, and clients during his undergrad.

He is currently completing his undergraduate degree in Planning with a specialization in Urban Design at the University of Waterloo. Aspiring to further his knowledge of design, Owen is aiming to get a master’s in landscape architecture after his undergrad.
