Riley (Mengqi) Xu

Architectural Designer

Riley is an architectural designer who is passionate about exploring methods dealing with affordable housing. She recently completed her master’s degree in Architecture at University of Toronto.

During her graduate studies and past work, she  looked into different forms of residential buildings, such as co-housing,  co-living and multi-family homes. Riley has experience designing residential and public buildings from a human-centered perspective, which has sharpened her problem-solving abilities as an architect.

Riley’s previous experiences have enabled her to visit and research various collective housing issues across a wide range of cities. Still exploring these issues, Riley is aiming to localize these methods to be more applicable to Toronto.
